Youth Group 2001

Clueless in Cornwall (February)

A hunt for some cryptic clues around Cornwall park, in which we had to do a lot of walking, except for Glenn who did a lot of driving.

North Head Manhunt (March)

A hunt for Wayne in the tunnels. Some were so scared when they heard him in the dark tunnel, they ran away. Others chased him.

The Cycling Event (April)

Some have rumored that Wayne led the group on the wrong path and we got lost, but there's no photos to prove it.

The Great Burger Challange (May)

A bit of a washout due to some heavy rain, but we still got to make the burgers in the garage, and play in the rain.

The Great Huia Challange (July)

The weather was better, so we finally got to complete the Huia challange. This consisted of three tasks (to be completed in any order). After this the group was given the right to cook a delicious burger

The Parachute Band (August)

Several of us decided to go and deafen ourselves by going to listen to the Parachute Band at "The Hub". The Youth didn't seem to mind, but Anita and Wayne moaned like two old women. Next time ear plugs!

The International Car Rally (September)

We ventured towards the Northland town of Ruawai to take in the excitement of the annual International Car Rally. The entire town was closed off to traffic, and used as a service centre for the rally cars. We also took a short drive further North to climb the extinct volcano Toka-Toka.

Barbeque on the Beach (November)

Speeding out to Piha, we were dissapointed to find that Lion rock was still closed. So we left our dissapointment at not being able to BBQ at the top of the rock, and headed toward the caves instead to find a suitable site. Barbequed bacon was on the menu, with buttered bread, followed closely by a swim in the sea.
