Beyond our Borders....
It has been just great to hear again the challenge of reaching beyond our borders with the message of God's love. Murray Peat from MECO presented the needs of the Middle East graphically. The Bartles have taken us from a West Auckland Winter to hear again of the work of the Lord in our near neighbour Fiji. On July 7th, our sights will focus on the message of hope for the millions in Bangladesh.

What do we do with all this information? We can't all go, the needs in New Zealand cry out louder than ever for strong consistent Bible believing, Christ honouring, Christians to step forward. But while we can't all go we can all be part of the challenge of overseas missions.

We can pray and we can give. Both levels of involvement require thought and determination. Special envelopes are available for you to give to missions at anytime throughout the year. However especially at this time are we challenged to give to the support of Susie and Lewis Varley as they step out to a fresh assignment in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Be part of the solution, pray and give.

Sending Service July 7th
Join us as we pray for Lewis and Susie Varley missionaries to Bangladesh. Our service will feature their work in Bangladesh and at this time a special missions offering will be taken for their support. Special envelopes are available from the information table.

Fiji Fund
Many years ago now several here in our church felt a heavy need to set aside finance for Fiji. A fund was established and over the years has been managed well by successive church boards. Ever on the look out for a suitable project that will see the fund invested permanently in Fiji the board has waited. It is our great joy to hold just a little less that $10,000 in the fund for the establishment of a new church somewhere in Fiji. Thanks goes to those who so long ago gave towards this project but have had to wait so patiently to see it happen.

Spot light on Willie Lang
Aucklander by birth, West Aucklander by personal choice and disciple by Jesus' choice this man is an inspiration. Spending many years driving Auckland's streets as a Cabbie there are few short cuts Willie can't show you. Hearing of the Church of the Nazarene and being invited along, now almost two years ago, he decided to check out the Sunday morning service. Not finding too many unusual problems with us he came back for another Sunday and has made this church his home. We're glad he did. His quick wit and great voice are part of our worship every week.

Recently making a brave move out of his home and into a retirement village, Willie took the challenge in giant strides. We're thankful to God that all along He has had spiritual needs and retirement plans for this man well in hand. Take time to shake this man's hand, he has already been where most of us are going and he does so with style.
